A former member of the 11th Division, Tejina loves a good brawl, but she's also a kind, compassionate woman when she wants to be. Loyal to her friends, she can and will help them out in a pinch. As a Captain of the Gotei 13, she's loyal to Soul Society and bound by her oath to protect human souls from Hollows. However, as she knows from personal experience that not all Hollows are pure evil and out to feast on innocent souls, she'll often try to talk to a Hollow and see if she can't convince it to leave peacefully and go back to Hueco Mundo. If that fails, she's more than willing to kill said Hollow to protect people.
Her closest friend in Seiretei is Ayame, Captain of the 5th Division, and the two are often seen together. Drinking, eating, or sparring. Despite her tendancy to call Yamamoto 'Old Man', she has a great deal of respect for the Captain-Commander, though she doesn't always agree with him and isn't afraid to tell him as much.
Tejina has a close friendship with her Zanpakuto, stating more than once that he's highly protective of her, often going to great lengths to keep her from being too badly harmed in combat - an act that she appreciates, but she still won't do anything stupid as her Zanpakuto's power is such that it will eventually inflict the damage it recieved onto her, and a fatal wound will kill her anyway.
Tejina knows nothing about kido, choosing to use her Zanpakuto and mastery of hand to hand combat to get the job done. Confident in her power, she never shies away from a fight, and although she was a member of the 11th Division long before Kenpachi took control, she shares their philosophy of one-on-one fights to the death, and if you survive, you're just lucky.

As a Captain of the Gotei 13, Tejina's skill with her Zanpakuto is high indeed, despite the fact that she chooses to use hand to hand combat whenever possible. Her weapon has no element, and is a direct combat type Zanpakuto. It's latent power is to take any damage Tejina recieves in combat and store it as energy, though doing this weakens him until he finally shatters. When this happens, all the damage he took for Tejina is reflected back onto her, meaning that fatal wounds will still kill her. Tejina can unleash this energy in an attack, more often than not killing her opponent.
The materialized spirit of Urechiimaraku is a man in his fifties with short black hair with streaks of grey and piercing gray eyes. He wears a long blue robe and black pants over traditional samurai armour, which in turn is worn over a white undershirt. In his materialized state, he has his body in its Shikai state on his arms and legs.

The release command for Urechiimaraku is 'Rise and Defend'. When released, Urechiimaraku changes to gauntlets and grieves. The gauntlets are spiked and the grieves are bladed, perfect for delivering devestating blows.
Bankai:
Tejina's Bankai covers her entire body in flexible, but very strong, armour with a helmet on her head, spikes on the shoulders and blades on her wrists. Covered in this powerful armour, Tejina becomes a living tank, and her overall attack and defense power sky rockets. A powerful enough blow will pierce her armour, though, so it's not completely immune to damage.

Tejina is a master of Shunpo, as expected of a Shinigami Captain. She can easily keep up with Byakuya...though Yoroichi is still faster than she is. She uses her Shunpo in conjunction with her impressive hand to hand skills to wreak utter havoc among her enemies.
Master hand to hand fighter:
Tejina is a master of hand to hand combat, able to fight on even grounds with Soifon, Captain of the 2nd Division. Her power is enough that one punch from her can bring a large building down, and destroy entire streets if she's not careful. She often obliterates Hollows with her bare hands, only using her Zanpakuto when, on very rare ocassions, her hand to hand combat fails her...and even then, she releases her sword and uses its shikai.
History:
Tejina was born in Soul Society, in one of the poorer areas, and discovered early in life that she had power. When she was old enough, she joined the Shinigami Academy, where she excelled at physical fighting, but was terrible with kido. She joined the Gotei 13 after passing the full courses, signing up for the 11th Division.
At some point in her career, she had a brief fling with a man from Rukongai, and gave birth to his son, Fuzukiri, though the father was later killed when a Hollow managed to break into Soul Society.
She made several friends during the course of her career, and in a mere 90 years, rose up to the 3rd Seat of the 11th Division. During a routine mission to the human world to hunt Hollows, she ran into a Hollow that she found was hardly evil, and seemed to just be lost and trying desperately to find a way back to Hueco Mundo.
Tejina befriended the Hollow, and over the next 50 years, kept on weakening other Hollows enough for him to eat to sustain himself without having to resort to eating human souls. One day, she returned to 'feed' him, only to find that a squad of Shinigami had found the Hollow and killed him, assuming that he was a threat.
Disgusted with her fellow Shinigami, Tejina not-so-politely resigned (in fact, she stormed into the Captain-Commander's office and told him she was quitting the Gotei 13, and that he could shove his Zanpakuto where the sun don't shine) and left for the human world after stealing a gigai and soul candy, just in case.
She spent the next 100 years or so wandering the human world, slaying Hollows that proved to be a threat. At some point, she met a Vasto Lorde Hollow that had wandered into the human world out of boredom and picked a fight with her.
She lost badly, and befriended the Hollow, Kojiro. He encouraged her to train harder, to get stronger, so that he could 'play' with her again and again. She spent the next several decades gaining her Bankai and sparring with Kojiro whenever she could, eventually settling down in a human town and opening a bookstore.
When she discovered that Kojiro had 'evolved' to a natural Arrancar, she congratulated him and proceeded to fight him in a secluded mountain area so that nobody would get caught in the fight.
To this day, no human knows what caused the mountains in that area to spontaniously explode. Several years later, she met Ayame, and eventually revisited Soul Society, choosing to put her old feelings behind her and rejoin the Gotei 13. It had surprised her when Yamamoto welcomed her back, and shortly after she returned, she was made the Captain of the 9th Division, where she remains to this day.
She and her son Fuzukiri are on good terms, and see each other as often as possible, though Tejina regards her son as a 'lazy, good for nothing brat', despite him being over a century old at least.
