Personality
Merlina is a bright, cheerful, completely shameless young woman. Having no real understanding on how to properly interact with people, she often just says what's on her mind and talks about her own body without shame (often becoming confused when people blush or look at her oddly), usually comparing her own chest size to other girls. A former slave that was beaten and raped by her masters, she's fully aware of her own sexuality, but doesn't quite understand that most people don't openly discuss that subject. Despite her apparent innocence, she's a deepy scarred young woman, and is desparate to get on with her life now that she's free. Ever since she learned to read and write, she's become addicted to learning from any source she can: books, the internet, television, even radio. She has an endless thirst for knowledge and spends her free time reading and writing out ideas that pop into her head.

Due to the way she was born, Merlina is very in tune with the forces of magic. She is a gifted mage, and grasps theory quickly and puts it into practice easily. She's learning how to bend the elements to her will from Tralissa's mother, Rebecca.
Martial Arts:
Merlina is studying martial arts under Jam, the castle chef and master of Chinese martial arts and ki manipulation. She hasn't quite reached the stage of learning about proper ki usage yet, but she's learning fast.
History:
Created on Mythos by Lady Gael and the Spirit of Mythos, Merlina was born before humans became the slaves to the elves. She was raised for six years by a human couple that died in the first attack on her village, and she was taken by the elves and made a slave at a temple that, oddly enough, was built to protect the Crystal Tree, the very life and core of Mythos from which Merlina was created.
She spent ten years as a slave, and at the age of 13, the rapes began. The corrupt high priest (a drow using Fae Magic to disguise himself) and the captain of the guard often raped her. This carried on for three years until she was finally set free by Christopher and Trenton. Silvia took her to Haven, where the malnourished, abused girl was finally allowed to live freely.
She found that she had great magical potential, and started training with Rebecca, as well as Jam for martial arts, which interested her greatly. A week later, Trenton arrived at Haven, and she soon became friends with him (though she was thoroughly confused by his constant nosebleeds and blushing around her). That night, she and Trenton returned to Mythos, where she finally got her revenge on one of her rapists, the captain of the guard, by beating him into the ground.
Being back on Mythos, however, made her panic, and she drove her own sword through her throat, committing suicide in order to wake up in Haven. She is currently seeing a psychiatrist.
Some time later, she was forced back to Mythos, where she found out the truth of her birth and met her mother - Mythos herself.
She slapped the spirit, though she harbours no ill will towards her. Her mother gave her a set of armour, and gave her, Trenton, Arlia, and Rowan a mission - get rid of the cult plaguing her and restore peace.
